He loves me...He loves me not...

He loves me...
He loves me not...

Do you ever find yourself saying this about God? When times are good, you're sure He loves you. But when times are rough... where do you think you stand? Oftentimes people think that God simply does not love them. When do you think this?

When a family member dies?
When your boyfriend dumps you?
When you are injured?
When someone close is injured?
When your heart is broken?
When your self-esteem is low?

God doesn't stop loving just because of our actions. He doesn't stop caring. Our God is a persistent God! "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (John 3:16-17) Did you catch that? God did not send Jesus to condemn the world...but to rescue it. Not to kill, but to save. Trials may will come our way. And what can we do when those trials come our way?

We can:
A) Wallow in self pity, longing for the test to end.
B) Rejoice.

The Bible tells us to rejoice...yes, our struggles because those struggles test your faith which develops perseverance which must finish it's work so that you may be mature and complete, without need of anything. (James 1:2-4) It also states, "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him." (James 1:12) Notice that it says "when" not "if." God will help you through whatever storms you face.

Have you ever heard "Footprints"?
"One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow You, You'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed You most You would leave me." The Lord replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

It amazes me how true that is! Isn't it crazy amazing to think that whenever you are broken and beaten down that God is right there to be your crutch? God loves to help His children! If you were the only person...ever... Jesus still would have died to save you.

We don't have to play that silly guessing game because every petal declares:
He loves us.
He loves us.
He loves us.
